My official name is Ping Ho, but I also have a preferred English name: Carolyn. I am a Brisbane-based Clinical Psychologist with full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

I bring a calm and compassionate presence in my therapeutic work. I meet people with respect and warmth, while also being curious and non-judgmental about what may be going on in my patients’ minds. I hope to support patients in making meaningful changes, with the aim to improve their quality of life. I also believe fun, enjoyment and creativity fulfil life, where I hope to achieve this with patients through the therapeutic conversations.

I offer therapy to manage a range of emotional needs and psychological concerns:

• Enhancing better mental health and psychological well-being
• Depression and other mood disorders
• Anxiety and general life stress
• Personality disorders
• Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Complex PTSD
• Challenges with migration and culture integration
• Exploring your own identity and sense of self
• Making important life decisions and transitions
• Relational difficulties and challenges
• Gender issues and sexual identity
• Issues with self-esteem and self-confidence

I offer psychotherapy to individuals only. I work with adults (18+) from various cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. I also work with people who identify anywhere on the LGBTQIA+ rainbow. I am familiar with ADHD presentations, and I am neurodivergent affirming. Mandarin is my mother tongue, so the use of Mandarin in therapy is also welcomed if required.

Special Interests:
I have a special interest in working with emerging adults (i.e. between the ages of 18 to 30) growing up in immigrant or culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) families. I was born in Taiwan, grew up in New Zealand and later moved to Australia. Given my own immigrant background, I understand the challenges immigrant families face when settling in a new culture and/or country. I especially appreciate and understand the conflicts and trauma experienced by young Asian immigrant adults growing up in a Western society while negotiating their parents’ heritage from their home country. My own immigrant experience and cultural perspectives have been integral to my doctoral thesis. I hope to help those who struggle to navigate between two different cultural systems and find a way to move forward with possibilities that may lie ahead of them.

Please note: I do not offer medico-legal reports.
